Those built in navigation buttons are great if your visitors are only using Internet Explorer. All the other browsers (AOL, WebTV, Netscape, etc.) will have problems with them.
For this reason we do not use them in our web site designs.
Your best bet is to make two-part hover graphics that change with a mouse over.
